SERDANG, 30 August - UPM Putra International Centre (i-PUTRA) has once again received a visit from a group of foreign students. This time, they are from a Home-schooling organization, Total Mind Learning, from Indonesia. The delegation consists of 4 students and two escorts. One interesting fact is that, one of the escorts, Ms. Hannah Daria Nusman, was a former UPM Mobility student during the Second Semester of 2017/2018 session.
The visit was organize to give the students an exposure to the atmosphere of the Institute of Public Studies in Malaysia. TML has chosen Universiti Putra Malaysia between one of the universities that can be used as the prospect of their students' higher education.
In the course of their visit, several program slots have been set up to give the real picture and potential of UPM as a center of higher education. Their arrival was welcomed by Assistant Administrative Officer Mobility Section, Ms. Nadia Zawani Hussin.
Located in the i-PUTRA Meeting Room, students and escorts were given an introduction to UPM andsignificant information. They are also exposed to the steps and requirements of registering for undergraduate program offered by UPM. After the session, a question-and-answer session was held to allow more sharing of information.
After lunch, delegates were given a golden opportunity to visit the Radio Putra FM. There, they were welcomed by Dr. Mohd Nizam Osman, who is the Coordinator for Radio Broadcasting Laboratory. At Putra FM, they were given various exposure on the operation of a radio frequency. They also had the opportunity to go OnAir with one of PutraFM’s DJ, DJ Zalie.
They end of their visit in the Faculty of Engineering. The visit to the faculty was supervised by Dr Syazwani Idrus, Senior Lecturer and mobility coordinator for the faculty. During the briefing, they were surprised by the visit by the Deputy Dean of Post Graduate Studies and Head of Mobility Unit Faculty of Engineering, Prof Dr Wan Zuha Wan Hasan. In this Faculty, they are exposed to laboratories and equipment used during lectures and practices.
