SERDANG, 6 September - UPM Buddies Association has held an experience and learning sharing programme among old and new members known as Buddies Induction. This programme has been held at Putra International Centre (i-PUTRA), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

The program is headed by UPM Association President, Nor Izzaz Emyra, a third-year student from the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communications. She said the fourth programme was aimed at recruiting new members of UPM's local and international students to produce Buddy who was able to become UPM ambassador to new international students at UPM.

What does it mean to be a Buddy? It means helping with those first necessary, but sometimes confusing, things that need to be done right away, advice on housing, assistance shopping, help with post offices, and other practical matters. Upon to their arrival, students may fill in the get acquainted form to request a Buddy to help them to get familiar to the campus lifestyle and also to be their lifetime friend.

"I am keen to register as a UPM Buddies member because this association provides a platform that also provides opportunities for international students to share their experiences at Serdang UPM campus or in Malaysia with the friend around the world," Najwa, Saudi Arabia.

“It is very hard to express in words how many wonderful memories we shared, how much fun we had together and how much we actually learned from each other in terms of studies and personal experiences for a year as UPM Buddies and we really glad to share it with the new members,” Azeem, Malaysia.
