2nd June 2022, UPM were once again opening the doors for a courtesy visit from SEARCA grantees. The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) is a non-profit organization established by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) in 1966.  

We were visited by Mr. Noe S. Mamon Jr. from the University of Southern Mindanao, Cotabato under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zulkefly Sulaiman from the Faculty of Agriculture.The second attendee was Dr. Analyn L. Codilan from the Institute of Renewable Natural Resources, University of the Philippines is under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr Kamziah Abd Kudus & Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norizah Kamarudin from Faculty of Forestry and Environment. Both Mr. Noe S. Mamon Jr. from the University of Southern Mindanao, Cotabato and Dr. Analyn L. Codilan from the Institute of Renewable Natural Resources, University of the Philippines are currently on a one-month staf attachment programme. 

The one-month mobility aims to conduct benchmarking activities, and discuss collaborative programs in research, extension, or other curricular activities between the project grantee's home institution.

During the courtesy visit at i-PUTRA, the discussion was focused on agriculture courses, international students in UPM and the vision to get  students educated in both education and skills development for future careers. SEARCA prioritize Agri-Business Models for Increased Productivity and Income, the mission aligns with UPM's core focus which is agriculture. 

We would like to thank SEARCA for the courtesy visit to i-PUTRA and share new insights and their knowledge on agriculture on sustainability, and security.
