SERDANG, 16 May. Putra International Centre (i-PUTRA), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has conducted a Farewell Ceremony for mobility students semester 2 2017/2018 at UPM Experimental Theatre. The objective of the programme were to gather all mobility students from various countries with UPM Buddies and also with the UPM officers and management. On the other hand, this programme also conducted in order to celebrate the good memories and friendship made while in UPM.
The ceremony was officiated by Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and International, Professor Dr. M. Iqbal Saripan. He congratulate all study abroad students who have gathered and successfully finished theri study abroad (one to two semester).
“It is UPM’s greatest pleasure to have the students here, and hoped that they have endeavour into great journey of life, experiencing the multicultural and the beautiful, vibrant Malaysia throughout their stay here”, he said.
Director of i-PUTRA UPM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zelina Zaiton Ibrahim, hopes that throughout the mobility programme the students had learnt new knowledge and experiences, which includes new language, new cultures and meeting new people (UPM is blessed with students from more than 60 countries across the world), the adventure of travelling abroad and be able to be more outward looking and have more interest in international affairs.
The programme began with one of Malay traditional dance called Zapin and followed by opening speech of i-PUTRA director and graced by Deputy Vice of Academic and International. Then, there are four students who shared their Putra Mobility Experienced with the audience. The event then continued with certificate giving ceremony and lucky draw, 115 students who attended the ceremony also received a momento from i-PUTRA in hope that they will be able to cherish this moment forever. This event initiated to appreciate mobility students who came all the way from the all around the globe to undergo Putra Experience. Thus the event was brought to a closure and sealed all the memories they have created in UPM.
