EXPLORE WITH INTERNATIONAL STUDENT @ BROGA HILL

BROGA HILL, SEMENYIH, SELANGOR 24 FEBRUARY 2020. Putra International Centre (iPUTRA), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) had conducted a hiking activity at Broga Hill, Semenyih, Selangor. This program was participated by 21 internationals, three officers and four students from the Buddies association.

This activity serves as an introduction to the UPM international community to experience scenic views and convenient areas for physical activities. Broga Hill which is located at the border of Negeri Sembilan is known to be a popular sightseeing venue especially for tourists to witness the innate beauty of the nature.

The program started at 6.45am in which the students gathered at iPUTRA. They were given breakfast before starting off the 45 minutes journey to Broga Hill, Semenyih. Upon arrival,  the students took few memorable photos together before resuming the hike. The Broga Hill hike impacted the students in disparate terms in a sense that some are euphoric to figure the beauty of plants and shrubs whilst some are simply thrilled to have seen the nature from the peak for the first time. The trail was quite challenging to be encountered however, the obstacles faced is worthy of the breathtaking scenery gazed at the peak of Broga Hill. The hike took approximately an hour to two and the participants were not restrained from exploring the respective area by themselves.

Jorge Eduardo Payan Lameli, a Mexican claimed that hiking at Broga Hill is such an interesting activity to be carried out aside the fact that this is an extremely healthy sport to practise. He also added that he adores the satisfaction obtained upon viewing Kuala Lumpur from the summit.

“This activity really helps me to get to know Malaysia in a greater depth. I am fond of recreational sport activities especially if I have the chance to experience them with my friends,” Lameli explained.

Broga Hill also provides various facilities such as food stalls and and signage boards as hiking remarks to serve convenience for the tourists.

The activity at Broga Hill was completed at noon and the participants returned to UPM after the exhausting hike. The half day program conducted is hopefully considered as a remarkable life experience for the international students to be shared with their families and friends later on.
