On 19th – 20th July 2022, a development workshop for International Students Management and Administration Best Practice and The International Students Crisis Management Plan was held at Royal Chulan Kuala Lumpur. This programme was organized by Jabatan Pendidikan Tinggi (JPT) and Education Malaysia under the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and co-hosted by PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA).
The workshop was participated by a number of directors, officers from Malaysia’s public and private universities, MOHE, and relevant entities such as Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). The objective of the workshop was to discuss International Students affairs and its management such as crisis management, student complaints, accommodations, wellbeing, marketing, promotions, admission and its requirements.
The other main objective of the workshop is to construct a comprehensive guideline for international students and its administration which will be launched officially on 29th September 2022 by MOHE. The workshop outcomes contribute to the idea in strategizing incoming international students from around the world to Malaysia. It also discussed on work around challenges that currently exist in universities and ways to overcome them. Malaysia is a great place for higher studies as Malaysia is geographically convenient, near to neighbouring countries and livable weather conditions. It is important to emphasize that as the market ‘pull’ factor as attractions for students from around the world.
