Serdang, 17 December 2025 — The UPM ASEAN Cultural Nexus 2025 programme was held at Academic Complex A, bringing together members of the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) campus community for a full day of cultural exchange, learning and regional engagement. The programme was organised by the Buddies Association UPM in collaboration with the Faculty Representative Council, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), and officiated by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), Professor Ir. Dr. Abd Rahim Abu Talib.

Designed as an inclusive platform, UPM ASEAN Cultural Nexus 2025 celebrated the rich cultural diversity of ASEAN while encouraging knowledge sharing and cross-cultural understanding among students and staff. The programme reflected UPM’s ongoing commitment to nurturing global awareness and strengthening regional connections within a multicultural academic environment.

Participants took part in a series of interactive and educational activities that highlighted both academic and cultural perspectives. These included the International Mobility Forum, which provided insights into study and exchange opportunities within the region, and Cultural Explorace. This engaging activity allowed participants to explore ASEAN cultures through teamwork and hands-on challenges.

The ASEAN Countries Exhibition offered visitors the opportunity to learn more about the histories, traditions and identities of ASEAN nations, while showcasing food from a variety of regional cuisines. These activities encouraged meaningful interaction across cultures.

Open to all members of the campus community, UPM ASEAN Cultural Nexus 2025 served as a dynamic space for dialogue and connection. By combining academic discussion with cultural experiences, the programme strengthened appreciation of ASEAN identities and reinforced the importance of regional collaboration within the university setting.
