Friday, 15th July 2022 - i-PUTRA has received an official visit from Bahagian Education Malaysia (BEM), under the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia to UPM. The visit from BEM  was led by BEM Director Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohd Azmir bin Mohd Nizar together with his entourage Puan Ts. Norliana Saliman, Puan Nur Hanani Muhammad, Miss Fitreel Huda Abd Rahim and Mr. Khairul Anwar Samsudin and Mr.Mohammad Khairul Anuar Mohammad Appendi.

Receiving BEM delegates was i-PUTRA’s Director Prof. Dr Suhaimi Ab Rahman and i-PUTRA team,  alongside representatives from Student’s Affairs Division, Academic Division, and Alumni Relations Centre.

This meeting was a discussion on the overview of international student affairs and its management at the university level. UPM and the Ministry of Higher Education have taken a step to move forward with the hope of international student affairs is taken care of, especially during the current situation with SOPs have now lifted. UPM has long term commitment with BEM. Although UPM has many to offer in terms of education, the lengthy process of visa and strict requirement from Immigration are among the key issues that needed to be address in the discussion. The 2 hours meeting was a fruitful one as UPM received positive feedback from the Ministry.

Through thighs visit, i-PUTRA hoped UPM is able to be more innovative and engaging in apprehending the ministry's vision.
