On Friday, 24th July 2022, UPM welcomed delegates from The Tehran University of Medical Science (TUMS), Iran. They were Dr Arman Zargaran, Director of International Affairs Development, Dr. Ardalan Shariat, Head of International Marketing Office and Mr Mir Mohammad Reza Seyed Hassani, International Marketing Officer.

The discussion between TUMS and UPM was chaired by Prof. Dr Ir. B.T. Hang Tuah Baharudin, The Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Industry and Community Relations and were joined by UPM representatives from the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences,  Prof. Dr Zamberi Sekawi, Prof. Dr Suhaimi Ab Rahman, Director, PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA), Prof. Dr Shamsul Bahri Hj. Md Tamrin, Director, Centre for Industry Relations & Network (CiRNeT), Assoc. Prof. Dr Michael Kh Ling, Department of Biomedical Science, Assoc. Prof. Dr Cheah Pike See, Department of Human Anatomy, Assoc. Prof. Dr Rajesh Ramasamy, Head, Department of Pathology, Prof. Dr Manohar Arumugam, Department of Orthopaedics, Mdm. Ida Suhaila Md Tahir and Ms. Nadia Zawani Hussin from i-PUTRA.

The meeting discussed the renewing of MOUs that has been made previously and exploring dual degree, staff exchange, and student exchange program. Through the partnership, TUMS encouraged all UPM staff and students to study in TUMS and experience the vibrant culture of Iran. Through the meeting, the partnership between TUMS and UPM were further strengthened. This fruitful session has become a rebinding to renewable networking. The meeting also opened up the possibility for future collaboration between the two entities.
