Strengthening the Visa and Passport Management with Malaysian Public Universities Workshop

PUTRAJAYA, 28th May 2023 - In a bid to achieve the ambitious target of 250,000 international student enrolments by 2025 set by the current Malaysia Education blueprint, Malaysian universities are taking proactive measures to enhance their visa and passport management systems. As part of this effort, i-PUTRA, in collaboration with the JKPA, recently organized a two-day workshop on Strengthening the Visa and Passport Management With Malaysian Public Universities.

 

The workshop, which took place on 27th and 28th May 2023 at the Everly Hotel Putrajaya, provided a platform for representatives from public universities across Malaysia to gather and engage in an in-depth discussion on visa and passport management. Esteemed panellists from the Immigration Department and EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services) delivered insightful presentations, sharing valuable information and expertise on the intricacies of managing student visas and passport applications.

 

The workshop aimed to provide an in-depth discussion and valuable information on visa and passport management. Prominent speakers from the Immigration Department and the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) were invited as panelists to share their expertise in this area. Participants from various public universities in Malaysia seized the opportunity to exchange best practices and address common challenges faced in managing visa and passport processes for international students.

 

By facilitating an open dialogue, the workshop allowed university representatives to gain valuable insights into the effective handling of visa and passport matters. The event fostered collaboration and encouraged the sharing of innovative ideas to ensure a streamlined and efficient system for international students choosing to pursue their education in Malaysia.

 

This collaborative effort between the universities, JKPA, and other relevant stakeholders showcases Malaysia's commitment to enhancing its education sector and providing a conducive environment for international students. By strengthening visa and passport management, Malaysian universities aim to attract and retain a larger number of international students, thereby fostering greater cultural exchange and enriching the nation's academic landscape.
