SERDANG, 17 July 2023 - The Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) welcomed a delegation of four distinguished professionals from Spain as part of the ERASMUS+ ICM Inbound Staff Mobility program. The one-week program which was held from 17th to 21st July 2023, were organized by the PUTRA International Centre in cooperation with the School of Business and Economics.

To mark the commencement of their visit, a special welcoming program was organized on 17th July 2023. The program commenced with Prof. Dr. Suhaimi Ab Rahman, the Director of PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA), delivering warm and encouraging remarks, setting the tone for a fruitful week ahead.

During the welcoming program, the participants were provided with an insightful presentation about UPM and the PUTRA International Centre, highlighting the university's academic excellence and commitment to fostering global partnerships.

The Spanish delegation consisted of Mr. Angel Luis Navarro Llorente, representing IES Alfonso VIII; Ms. Maria Mantilla Pousa, from Cebem Formacion Profesional S.L.; Mr. Ruiz Gomez Vicente, hailing from IES Gregorio Prieto; and Ms. Rocio Martinez Barreiro, proudly representing Conselleria de Educacion – Xunta de Galicia.

To introduce the visitors to the beauty of the UPM campus and the cultural heritage of Malaysia, a guided tour of Putrajaya and the UPM campus was organized. This allowed the participants to experience the unique blend of modernity and traditional charm that Malaysia has to offer.

In the spirit of cultural exchange, the guests were treated to a delightful lunch at the Malay Traditional House located within the vicinity of the Faculty of Modern Language and Communication at 1:00 P.M. This experience allowed them to savour traditional Malaysian cuisine and witness the university's commitment to preserving cultural heritage.

To further immerse the participants in Malaysia's cultural heritage, a guided tour was arranged at the Malay Heritage Museum, also situated within the Faculty of Modern Language and Communication. This tour provided valuable insights into the rich cultural tapestry of Malaysia, showcasing its diverse traditions and history.

The ERASMUS+ ICM Inbound Staff Mobility Program serves as a vital platform for promoting international collaboration, fostering mutual learning, and cultivating lasting connections between institutions. Through this program, UPM aims to continue expanding its global network, furthering academic excellence, and encouraging cultural exchange.
