Serdang, 7 July 2023 - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) welcomed the representative MIT Academy of Engineering (MIT AOE) Dr. Janhavi Inamdar, Dean of External Relations and Professor at the School of Civil Engineering.

The event, chaired by Prof. Dr. Suhaimi Ab Rahman, Director of PUTRA International Centre, was graced by prominent figures from UPM, including Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Khairol Anuar Mohd Ariffin, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nor Azwady Abd Aziz, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Razali Yaakob, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology; and Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Yazid Mohd Yunos, Deputy Dean (Research & Innovation) of the Faculty of Design and Architecture.

Also present were Prof. Dr. Hjh Firdaus Mukhtar, Deputy Dean (Admission, Institutional Relations and Financial Aid) of the School of Graduate Studies; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syazwani Idrus, Deputy Director of PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA); Madam Noraihan Noordin, Head of PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA); Madam Ida Suhaila Md Tahir, Section Head of Global Engagement at PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA); Ms. Nadia Zawani, Section Head of Mobility at PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA); and Ms. Nur Nadjla Ahmad Razei, Assistant Registrar at the School of Graduate Studies.

During the meeting, UPM and MIT AOE engaged in dynamic discussions, exploring various collaborative prospects. The attendees expressed enthusiasm for joint initiatives such as MS and PhD study abroad programs, hosting summer school programs, facilitating student exchanges, and pursuing cooperative research and development activities.

The program concluded on a high note with both parties expressing a strong commitment to exploring and materializing the identified collaboration opportunities. As a special highlight, the delegates from MIT AOE were treated to an immersive campus tour, providing them with an overview of UPM's state-of-the-art facilities, vibrant academic community, and picturesque surroundings.
