SERDANG, 2 May – From 28 April until 2 May 2024, UPM had the esteemed privilege of hosting three (3) distinguished professors from Ataturk University, Turkiye. The delegation, led by Prof. Dr Yavuz Selim Saglam, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, included Prof. Dr. Bulent Polat and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sinan, professors of the same faculty. We were also privileged to have Ms. Pinar Ucak as the liaison officer. They were attached to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV), UPM, to pursue their ERASMUS+ Teaching Mobility Programme at UPM.

On their first day of attachment, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Goh Yong Meng, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UPM. They were also given a comprehensive introduction to UPM and FPV. They then visited the Animal Anatomy Museum and University Veterinary Hospital, which are located inside the faculty. The highlight of the day was the seminar, where these esteemed professors shared their rich experience and profound knowledge in a session titled Turkish Tales: Veterinary Wisdom from Turkiye, enlightening all attendees.

On 30 April 2024, the delegation visited the Zoo Veterinary Hospital, National Zoo of Malaysia. Dr. Mark Hiew Wen Han, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UPM, led the delegation. Dr. Kavita, a Veterinarian, briefed them on the hospital and zoo operation. Dr. Kavita also took the group on a tour around the zoo. They were thrilled and anticipated to see the Malayan tiger.

As part of the ERASMUS+ Teaching Mobility Programme, i-PUTRA is responsible for giving them some cultural exposure. The delegation was taken to some of Kuala Lumpur's mesmerising cultural attractions, such as Central Market, Independence Square, and Sultan Abdul Samad Building, which are iconic heritage buildings.
