SERDANG. 4 August 2023 - On August 4th, 2023, a significant step toward international academic collaboration was taken as a representative from Pioneer International Education Inc, Ms. Zhang, paid a courtesy visit to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The meeting, marked by promising discussions, revolved around the potential partnership between the two institutions.

UPM was honoured to host Ms. Anna Zhang, the Vice-director of the Yunnan Program from Pioneer International Education Inc., during the courtesy visit. Welcoming the Pioneer International Education Inc representative from UPM was the Deputy Director of PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA), Assoc. Prof. Dr Syazwani Idrus, Dean from the Faculty of Science. Assoc Prof. Dr Nor Azwady Abd Aziz, Deputy Dean (Research & Innovation and Industry & Community Relations), Faculty of Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd. Khair b. Hassan, the section head from the Global Engagement section, Madam Ida Suhaila and the Section head from the Mobility Section, Ms Nadia Zawani.

One of the key focal points of the meeting was the exploration of a joint degree program for undergraduate students. Pioneer International Education Inc expressed its interest in facilitating connections between UPM and various other distinguished universities to establish this collaborative program. The envisioned joint degree program aims to provide students with enriched learning experiences and global exposure.

Furthermore, discussions also touched upon the possibility of signing the Letter of Intent (LOI) between UPM and Pioneer International Education Inc to solidify the partnership. This LOI is set to outline the intentions and framework of their collaboration, setting the stage for future endeavours that promise to benefit students, faculty, and both institutions.

The visit concluded on a positive note with a photography session commemorating the interaction between the representatives from both institutions. As a gesture of appreciation and goodwill, a gift-giving session took place, reflecting the amicable atmosphere and the shared enthusiasm for potential collaboration.

As the possibilities for cooperation continue to unfold, this meeting serves as a testament to the commitment of UPM and Pioneer Education China to explore innovative avenues for students to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. The progress made during this visit sets a promising precedent for the future of international academic partnership between the two institutions.
