On November 6, 2023, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) welcomed a distinguished delegation from Universitas Airlangga for a courtesy visit, marking a significant step towards fostering collaboration and sharing academic insights. The meeting facilitated a rich exchange of ideas and opportunities between the two esteemed institutions.

The Universitas Airlangga delegation, led by Dr. Laksmi Sulmartiwi, S.Pi., MP., Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, included prominent figures such as Dr. Imron Mawardi, Prof. Dr. Suryani Dyah Astuti, Prof. Dr. Iwan Sahrial Hamid, Andra Rizqiawan, and Dr. Achsania Hendratmi, among others. The UPM representatives, headed by Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd Azmi Mohd Lila, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhajir Hamid, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, actively participated in the discussions.

The agenda covered a spectrum of topics, including opportunities presented by Universitas Airlangga, such as the Adjunct Faculty Program for UPM lecturers, staff mobility opportunities encompassing guest lectures, visiting fellowships, and keynote speaking engagements. The Universitas Airlangga delegation also highlighted outbound mobility opportunities like semester exchanges under the AMERTA Program, internships, and the International Summer Program.

Conversely, UPM showcased its programs tailored for Universitas Airlangga students, sparking discussions on potential collaborations in various fields. The meeting concluded with a token exchange and a photography session, symbolizing the strengthened bond between the two institutions. This courtesy visit sets the stage for future collaborations, emphasizing the shared commitment to academic excellence and international cooperation.
