Virtual courtesy meeting with Düzce University

SERDANG, 17 July 2023  - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Düzce University embarked on a virtual courtesy meeting on the 17th of July 2023 to discuss potential future collaborations between the two esteemed institutions. The discussions focused on identifying potential areas of collaboration and cooperation that would contribute to academic excellence and cross-cultural enrichment for both universities. Chaired by Prof. Dr. Suhaimi Ab Rahman, Director of PUTRA International Centre, the meeting brought together representatives from both universities to foster academic ties and explore avenues for cooperation.

The meeting commenced with Prof. Dr. Suhaimi Ab Rahman extending a warm welcome to the Düzce University representatives and expressing UPM's eagerness to strengthen international academic partnerships. Insightful presentations about UPM and its accomplishments were followed by an eagerly anticipated presentation from Düzce University, delivered by the competent representatives from the Projects Partnership, Incoming/Outgoing Students, Incoming/Outgoing Academics, and Outgoing Traineeship Departments.

The Düzce University delegation included Prof. Dr. Ayfer Gedikli, Head of Department Economics at Akçakoca Bey Political Sciences & Coordinator at the International Office Düzce University, Muhammed Kaan Güney from the Projects Partnership Department, Beyza Åžahin from the Incoming/Outgoing Students Department, Murat Gökmen from the Incoming/Outgoing Academics Department, and Hayat Çulcu from the Outgoing Traineeship Department of the International Office.

UPM was represented by the Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syazwani Idrus, Deputy Director of PUTRA International Centre; Madam Noraihan Noordin, Head of PUTRA International Centre; Madam Ida Suhaila Md Tahir, Section Head of Global Engagement at PUTRA International Centre; and Ms. Nadia Zawani, Section Head of Mobility at PUTRA International Centre.

The meeting provided a valuable platform for both institutions to discuss potential joint initiatives, faculty exchanges, student mobility programs, and collaborative research projects. The delegates acknowledged the potential benefits of academic cooperation in enhancing their respective institutions' global presence and fostering a diverse learning environment.

The virtual courtesy meeting concluded at 4:00 P.M., with both UPM and Düzce University expressing their eagerness to further explore the identified areas of collaboration and opportunities for academic growth and mutual enrichment for UPM and Düzce University.
