The appointment of the Associate Fellows at the PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA) is a significant step in our internationalisation journey. Their role, essential in strengthening the university's internationalisation initiatives, underscores their value and integral contribution to our mission.
Our associate Fellows, selected from both academic and non-academic members, bring a wealth of expertise and experience from their international engagements. Their demonstrated involvement, commitment, initiative, and experience at the international level make them invaluable assets to our internationalisation initiatives.
Beginning in 2024, the membership of Associate Fellows at i-PUTRA was initiated with the appointment of nine (9) members, consisting of eight (8) academic members and one non-academic member.
The primary responsibilities of the Associate Fellows are:
Engaging in assisting i-PUTRA in developing the UPM Internationalization Master Plan.
Assisting i-PUTRA in organising and implementing workshops, training, or short courses (strategic sharing sessions) related to internationalisation.
Planning strategic activities to position UPM at the international level.
Collaborating with other institutions internationally to strengthen networks, partnerships, and ways to enhance global recognition.
Associate Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in collaborative projects involving various disciplines and cultures, fostering a sense of inclusivity and teamwork and building relationships with non-governmental organisations (NGOs), international organisations, and local communities to promote global empowerment initiatives.
Evaluating the impact of projects and activities related to global empowerment carried out by i-PUTRA and providing recommendations for improvement.
Assisting in collecting and analysing data related to internationalisation activities for reporting purposes at various levels.
Actively contributing during the two (2) years of appointment.
