NEW STUDENT

The Student Pass is a document issued by the Malaysian immigration department to a non-citizen to reside Malaysia for more than one (1) month, for educational purpose only. The student pass appears in the form of a sticker in the passport.

 


 

    

 


 

                                                  8 STEPS PRE - ARRIVAL STAGE FOR NEW STUDENTS

 

STEP 1 : ONLINE APPLICATION
 
 
 

Student must apply e-VAL trough EMGS website visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my. Application only applicable for UPM Serdang Offer Letter. For UPM Kampus Bintulu please refer to the UPM Kampus Bintulu International Office.

Document required to upload :

  1. A valid offer letter and deferment letter (if any)
  2. Academic record (Certficate and academic transcripts)
  3. Photo
  4. Passport Data Page
  5. Health Declaration
  6. It is mandatory for the student NOT TO ENTER MALAYSIA until the e-VAL is given by the Immigration Department of Malaysia
STEP 2: VERIFICATION DOCUMENT BY I-PUTRA
 
  i-PUTRA will verify the information and document uploaded in the EMGS system
STEP 3: VERIFICATION DOCUMENT BY EMGS

  EMGS will verify the information and document uploaded in the EMGS system
STEP 4: PROCESS APPLICATION BY IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT

Approval is subject to the authority of the Immigration Department. Student able to check the application progression through EMGS Apps or website visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/emgs/application/searchForm

 

STEP 5: SUBMIT DOCUMENT TO I-PUTRA
 

Student must send all documents in softcopy to i-PUTRA through online https://forms.gle/wW9D2ZggNC1K5r969

 

STEP 6: DOWNLOAD APPROVAL LETTER
 
 
Once the application reach 35% , student must download EMGS Approval Letter for online registration purpose.
STEP 7: DOWNLOAD E-VAL FROM EMGS APPS OR WEBSITE
 
 
Application approved at 80%. Student must download e-VAL from EMGS Apps or website
STEP 8: SINGLE ENTRY VISA (SEV)
 
 
Student must obtain Single Entry Visa (SEV) at the nearest Malaysian Embassy/ consulate in your home country with the e-VAL.

Important: NEW STUDENTS ARE NOT ADVISED TO ENTER MALAYSIA USING THE AUTOGATE FEATURE

 
  • All new student need to Complete registration requirement.

  • All new students are required to do a health examination as soon as possible after completing registration.

  • Book an appointment slot for Health Examination at University Health Centre (PKU) by log in to your :

  • Undergraduate Student

  • Postgraduate Student

 
  • All new students are required to submit document according the Checklist New Student Pass (Come with VAL)

  • After passport submission to the EMGS & Immigration the process will take minimum 14 days and maximum 30 days.

  • Student need to check/track application status at EMGS apps/portal.

  • Students are NOT ALLOWED TO BUY OR BOOK A FLIGHT TICKET before passport collection.


  • Students may collect passport at The International Centre after 2 days from the date stated at the EMGS website.

  • APPLICATION COMPLETE
