The i-PUTRA with Community 2025 Series commenced with great enthusiasm in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, upholding a cherished annual tradition of sharing and togetherness. The simple yet profound act of distributing iftar treats to passersby through a drive-through setup served as a meaningful gesture of compassion and community spirit, celebrating the joy of giving during this sacred time.
On March 7, 2025, the inaugural event of the Ramadan series witnessed hundreds of cups of freshly prepared Tau Fu Fah, lovingly crafted and distributed by the staff of the PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA). This initiative was warmly embraced by the campus community, embodying the values of generosity and unity that characterise the month of fasting.
The spirit of sharing continued on March 14, 2025, during the second session of the series, when 700 packs of homemade soybean milk were distributed to drivers and passersby via the drive-through. This effort was made possible through the collaboration between the i-PUTRA team and the English Language Centre (ELS) at UPM. Among the recipients were international students, many of whom were experiencing Ramadan traditions in Malaysia for the first time, thereby enriching their cultural understanding.
As the final nights of Ramadan approached, i-PUTRA concluded the series with a second distribution of Tau Fu Fah on March 21, 2025. This time, the team was joined by Professor Dr. Ismi Arif Ismail, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), enhancing the warmth and camaraderie of the occasion. The drive-through once again brought smiles and a sense of solidarity to the campus, making the concluding days of fasting even sweeter for all.
The event transcended the mere distribution of food; it was about creating moments of connection, generosity, and shared joy as the community prepared for Eid al-Fitr. Heartfelt conversations and warm exchanges filled the atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of ukhuwah that i-PUTRA endeavours to promote.
The i-PUTRA team expresses sincere gratitude to all who contributed to making this series a tremendous success through their support and enthusiastic participation. Although the Ramadan chapter of i-PUTRA with Community 2025 has concluded, the Centre remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering meaningful engagement and impactful outreach throughout the year.
