Tuesday, 12 July 2022 - The joy of Aidiladha has been felt by all Muslims around the world. Qurbani is an annual tradition for Muslims across the world and involves an animal sacrifice in recognition of the Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) own willingness to sacrifice his son for the will of Allah (SWT).

To take the blessings in conjunction with this Eid, Putra International Centre (i-PUTRA)  together with EZ Qurban Sdn. Bhd has held a Program Ibadah Korban Sacrifice Worship Program This program is the largest program for i-PUTRA in the International Center that involves a large scale of people to make this program a success. The main purpose of the program is to bring i-PUTRA closer with international students at UPM and to ensure they gain experience on how Muslim community in Malaysia performs Qurban.

A total of 15 cows were sacrificed to be given to a group of asnaf students, international students, the Serdang community and staff from 11:00 to 4:00 pm. There were about 1,200 packs of meat were distributed to students and the local community.

During the opening, the Director of i-PUTRA mentioned, ‘’We are delightful to convey our special thanks to EZ Qurban Sdn Bhd for trusting i-PUTRA to undertake Ibadah Qurban meat distributions. This indeed an opportunity for i-PUTRA to serve for the local communities, our students and UPM staff. We also would like to thank the volunteers and our supportive international students for taking part in this activity’’.

With the efforts and cooperation from all students and staffs, made the process even smoother and it finished by noon. With windy and cloudy weather making the process even more smooth and calming. A beautiful day to work for a great cause. The program finished by noon with the presence of Mr. Nasri from EZ Qurban Sdn. Bhd and we hope to see and execute more collaborations such as this ahead.

Each person was divided into tasks such as scaling meat group, cooking group, meat wrapping group, distribution group that took place simultaneously. The qurban event was further enhanced with food cooked by the rewang group from breakfast to evening.

‘Praise be to God, the i-Putra program this time is very lively even though this is the first time in the history of i-Putra to receive 15 cows to be given to deserving people. There may be mistakes today but This is the best experience to learn the meaning of sacrifice while strengthening the relationship at i-Putra.’ said 'Mr. Abdul Razif Razak, Head of the program.'
