Eid al-Fitr is a wonderful time for celebrating joy, gratitude, and togetherness—bringing together people from all walks of life. Embracing this spirit, the PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA) held a delightful Eid Celebration on April 24, 2024, which coincided with the Closing Ceremony of the New International Students Welcoming Programme (NISWP) for Semester 2, 2024/2025 mobility students.

In pursuit of i-PUTRA’s ongoing commitment to promoting cultural appreciation and facilitating cross-cultural understanding, the programme afforded international students an immersive experience into Malaysian traditions. The array of activities included the weaving of ketupat (anyam ketupat), the opportunity to don traditional Malaysian attire, the preparation of honey cornflake treats, and participation in cherished traditional games such as congkak and batu seremban. Additionally, a thoughtfully designed photo booth provided a visual element, allowing attendees to capture and commemorate the festive moments.
The celebration successfully brought together members of the UPM community, fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere that reflected the true essence of Eid—sharing, bonding, and meaningful connection.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all distinguished guests who honoured us with their presence at the celebration. Furthermore, we would like to convey a special note of appreciation to the BUDDIES Association UPM for their invaluable support and enthusiastic involvement. Their dedication significantly contributed to the success of the activities and ensured a joyful and memorable experience for all attendees.
