10 March 2023 – On the 10^th of March 2023, i-PUTRA organized the New International Student Welcoming Program Semester 2 2022/2023 to welcome the new international students both mobility students and full-time students. The program was conducted at the Experimental Hall, UPM and the program was joined by a total of 65 international mobility and full-time students.

The program was also attended by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and International, Prof Dr Ismi Arif Ismail, Dato’ Rosdi Wah, the Head of Administration, Division of Admission and Division of Academic Governance, UPM, and Prof. Dr. Suhaimi Ab Rahman, the director of Putra International Office. The orientation program begins with the arrival of VIPs followed by an opening performance performed by the UPM Buddies Association who performed a dance number consisting of traditional dance moves from traditional Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Sabah dance moves choreographed to the song Dikir Puteri by Noraniza Idris.

Following the great performance by the UPM Buddies Association, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and International was invited to the stage to give his welcoming remarks to welcome the new UPM International students. During his welcoming speech, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and International extend his warm welcome to the international students and expressed his hope that the student will take the time they will spend at UPM to challenge themselves academically and socially. The program continues with a short photography session before resuming with an ice-breaking session conducted by the UPM Buddies Association.

The program resumes with briefings from various speakers from UPM representing the Academic division, UPM Library, University Health Centre, Visa and Pass Section, UPM International Student Association and UPM Buddies Association before concluding the program concludes at noon.
