Application Procedure

1. FORMS

Applicants who will be going for their outbound mobility program are required to get approval to study abroad from the Putra International Centre before their departure. Applicants are required to submit the following forms and relevant documents at least 3 months before the program commencement.

  4. FEEDBACK FORM OUTBOUND E-FEEDBACK FORM (GOOGLE FORM)

 

The application will be brought to the Mobility Committee Meeting, chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) and joined by representatives from other PTJ in UPM. The meeting will be held once a month, according to the availability of the mobility committee members.

 

 

2. OUTBOUND MOBILITY PROGRAM INCENTIVE

the Outbound Mobility Program Incentive is an incentive introduced by i-PUTRA for UPM students who will be joining any outbound mobility program during their study period in UPM. Beginning 2021, this incentive has also included any mobility program conducted virtually. UPM students who satisfy the eligibility requirement can be considered to receive this incentive from i-PUTRA. The eligibility requirement can be found below. 

  • Virtual Mobility Program Incentive (VMPI) - Individual/Group Application

     1.  Minimum CGPA : 2.75

     2.  Applicant need to be an active student in UPM.

     3.  The minimum duration for the virtual program must not be less than 8 hours
          in total.

     4.  The program is organised by an academic organisation located abroad.

     

    Long Term Program

    • Virtual Semester Exchange
    • Virtual Internship
    • Virtual Research Attachment
    • Claimable incentive for programme registration fees. (maximum amount claimable up to RM500)

    • Internet usage incentive for mobility program (Maximum claimable Amount of RM100 in total)

     

    1.  Minimum CGPA : 2.75

     2.  Applicant need to be an active student in UPM.

     3. The minimum duration for the virtual program must not be less than 4
         months and not exceed 1 year in total.

     4.  The programme is organised  by academic organisation
          located abroad.

     5.  The internet usage incentive can be claimed after the programme ends.
          Maximum claimable amount is RM100. Payments receipts will be required.

     2.  Participants need to be an active student registered at their home university.

     3.  The participants for the program must be an active student in their home
          university.

     4.  Minimum number of participants is 100 international student

     




  • Outbound Mobility Incentive (OMI) -  Individual/Group Application

     4.  Have not received any financial aid from i-PUTRA in the same year

    • Semester exchange

    • Industrial Training

    RM2500 for the whole semester

     

     1.  Possess the minimum CGPA requirement of 3.00 and above

     2.  Students must have at least completed 2 semesters in UPM and are not in their 
          final semester

     3.  Programme joined need to be attached or held in a University.

     4.  Have not received any financial aid from i-PUTRA in the same year

     


    *For postgraduate students going for research attachment with a duration of more than one month, please apply under the mobility scheme provided by the School of Graduate Studies

     

    Disclaimer:

    • The eligibility rate for the Outbound Mobility Incentive allocation will be decided based upon the criteria stated. The selection criteria listed also apply to international students.

    • However, the approval for the Outbound Mobility Incentive will be solely decided by the Mobility Committee Meeting. Therefore, please be reminded that the amount that is approved may not reflect the amount stated in the financial aid allocation.     • Local postgraduate students who will be undertaking their research attachment abroad may instead apply for the financial aid offered by the School of Graduate Studies (SGS). For more information regarding the financial aid for postgraduates, the information can be accessed here

    • Applicants may also join a mobility program that offers scholarships to applicants. The list of scholarship opportunities can be found here

 

 

3. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • The outbound application form needs to be submitted to i-PUTRA by 15 every month for it to be processed and be brought to the Mobility Committee Meeting. Any applications that are submitted at a later date will be brought to the next scheduled meeting.

  • Incomplete application forms will not be processed. Please ensure the forms and the supporting documents are prepared accordingly according to the checklist.

  • The financial aid from i-PUTRA are limited and approval is subject to the decision made by the Mobility Committee Meeting.
