1. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applicants who will be going for their outbound mobility program are required to get approval to study abroad from the Putra International Centre before their departure. Applicants are required to submit the following forms and relevant documents at least 3 months before the program commencement.
The application will be brought to the Mobility Committee Meeting, chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) and joined by representatives from other PTJ in UPM. The meeting will be held once a month, according to the availability of the mobility committee members.
2. OUTBOUND MOBILITY PROGRAM INCENTIVE
the Outbound Mobility Program Incentive is an incentive introduced by i-PUTRA for UPM students who will be joining any outbound mobility program during their study period in UPM. Beginning 2021, this incentive has also included any mobility program conducted virtually. UPM students who satisfy the eligibility requirement can be considered to receive this incentive from i-PUTRA. The eligibility requirement can be found below.
The eligibility rate for the Outbound Mobility Incentive allocation will be decided based upon the criteria stated. The selection criteria listed also apply to international students.
However, the approval for the Outbound Mobility Incentive will be solely decided by the Mobility Committee Meeting. Therefore, please be reminded that the amount that is approved may not reflect the amount stated in the financial aid allocation. More information on this matter can be found in the Outbound Mobility Guidebook.
Local postgraduate students who will be undertaking their research attachment abroad may instead apply for the financial aid offered by the School of Graduate Studies (SGS). For more information regarding the financial aid for postgraduates, the information can be accessed here.
Applicants may also join a mobility program that offers scholarships to applicants. The list of scholarship opportunities can be found here.
3. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The outbound application form needs to be submitted to i-PUTRA by 15 every month for it to be processed and be brought to the Mobility Committee Meeting. Any applications that are submitted at a later date will be brought to the next scheduled meeting.
Incomplete application forms will not be processed. Please ensure the forms and the supporting documents are prepared accordingly according to the checklist.
The financial aid from i-PUTRA are limited and approval is subject to the decision made by the Mobility Committee Meeting.
