University Recommendation for MONBUKAGAKUSHO Scholarship (MEXT) Research Attachment / Non-degree Program @ Hosei University 2023/2024

The University Recommendation for Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Research Attachment / Non-Degree Program @ Hosei University 2023/2024 intake is now open for application.

1. What is the Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholarship?

It is a scholarship offered by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan to international students who wish to study in graduate course at Japanese universities as research students.

2. Grant Target Candidate:

2 Undergraduate (Final year) / Postgraduate UPM Students

3. Scholarship Information:

Period of scholarship : Approximately One year and six months from October 2023 through March 2025

4. Program Duration :

Approximately around October 2023 through March 2025. However, candidates must arrive to Japan between 6/9/2023- 19/9/2023.

5. Field of Study Offered:

Computer Science, Science, Biotechnology, English Linguistics, social sciences, sports and health studies, and engineering.

6. Application Period:

Application Deadline to i-PUTRA : 17/1/2023 (Tuesday)

Application Submission to Hosei University : 19/1/2023 (Thursday)

7. Eligibility Requirement for student mobility:

Minimum CGPA requirement is 2.30/3.00 (MEXT Scale)
Candidate must satisfy the entry conditions to be enrolled in master's course or doctoral course at Hosei University
Candidates must be studying full-time in UPM in order to be considered.
Candidates must apply for the same field of study they majored in their home university.
Candidate must satisfy the English Language Requirement (for English-based program) or Japanese Language Program (Japanese-based program) set by Hosei University

8. Application Procedure for Student Mobility:

1. Complete the following forms (Downloadable here):

A. Hosei University Research Plan

B. 2023 Application Form for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship (Research Students)

C. Field of Study and Research Plan

2. Submit your application to your mobility coordinator for initial evaluation. Once you have been shorlisted by your faculty, the faculty will nominate the candidate to i-
PUTRA by the deadline set

3. Candidates will be evaluated accordingly. The successful candidate will be informed through email regarding their selection. Selected candidate will be nominated to Hosei University accordingly.

4. Selected candidate will need to submit the original copy to i-PUTRA accordingly upon requested . Should you require assistance in filling in the forms, feel free to contact Madam Shahana via email at shahana@upm.edu.my.

9. Disclaimer:

Candidates nominated to Hosei University will be evaluated by the host university upon application
submission. Please take note that a nomination does not guarantee scholarship to be granted to the candidates.
