From 1st to 8th July 2023, the University Putra Malaysia (UPM) proudly sent two representatives to the picturesque city of Braga, Portugal, to participate in the ERASMUS+ ICM Staff Week organized by the University of Minho (UMinho). This highly anticipated international program, supported by the ERASMUS+ Grant under the European Union, was designed to foster global academic exchange and share best practices among participating institutions.

Mrs Rahayu Ridzuan from the PUTRA International Centre and Ms Azizah Tamsi from the School of Business and Economics embraced this opportunity to engage with staff and professionals from around the world and explore innovative approaches to internationalization. Their active involvement and dedication demonstrated UPM's commitment to enhancing international collaboration and enriching the university's academic landscape.

Throughout the week, participants delved into various engaging sessions and a diverse array of topics. From effective communication strategies with prospective students to the promotion of academic innovation and intercultural practices, the discussions provided valuable insights and inspiration to drive continuous improvement in their respective institutions. Additionally, the UMinho ICM Staff Week offered personalized visits to cultural attractions in the charming city of Braga, providing a unique opportunity for the UPM representatives to immerse themselves in the rich heritage and history of the region. These experiences not only facilitated intercultural understanding but also contributed to fostering lasting connections among the participants.

The program also included practical workshops on project application, equipping participants with valuable knowledge and tools to create impactful proposals for future initiatives. UMinho ICM Staff Week concluded with a certificate-giving ceremony, to celebrate the successful conclusion of a transformative week.

As the UPM representatives bid farewell to their newfound colleagues and friends, they carried with them cherished memories, new ideas, and an unwavering commitment to nurturing the bonds of international collaboration within UPM's academic realm. The UMinho ICM Staff Week has left an indelible mark, propelling UPM further on its path of excellence in education and research on a global scale.
